Beale & Company’s Dubai office strengthens team
Thursday, 12th January 2017We start the New Year with a number of changes to our team in Dubai which will significantly strengthen our capability in the region.
We are delighted to announce the promotion of Claire Miller to Partner on 1st January 2017. We have also appointed John Sheils as a Consultant and Natalie Ledger has transferred to Dubai from our London office.
Claire joined Beales’ London office in 2010 from the well-respected construction law practice, Shadbolt LLP, and transferred to our Dubai office in December 2015. Claire has been instrumental in the continuing success of the Dubai practice. She has over 10 years experience specialising in construction law and is experienced in all forms of dispute resolution having advised extensively on disputes arising out of major international infrastructure projects.
John has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years and has specialised in international construction disputes for approximately 25 years. John started his professional career with a major London law firm. From there he spent 11 years advising on a wide variety of construction matters in the construction practice of Shadbolt LLP where he became a partner in 2006. John practised as a partner in Beale & Company’s Dublin office in 2009 before leaving to extend his international experience. In particular, John has spent the last 4-5 years working on high-value construction arbitrations in the UAE and South Africa. He re-joined Beales to work in the Dubai office in December 2016.
Natalie trained and qualified at the Firm’s London office. Prior to joining Beales, Natalie gained 6 years’ legal experience in Dubai, including 2 years’ international arbitration experience in the construction and projects department of Clyde & Co (Dubai). Having spent a significant amount of her time in London working on construction-related claims in the UAE, Natalie re-located back to the Middle East in December 2016 to work in our Dubai office.
John and Natalie join Royston Pendley (the Managing Partner of our Dubai office), Claire Miller and Linzi Ashworth to strengthen the construction team in Dubai and we look forward to continuing to support our clients in the region.
Antony Smith, Senior Partner, comments: “We are incredibly pleased to have such highly-skilled and dedicated people in our Dubai office. We look forward to working with more and more of our clients in the Gulf region”.
