Kieran is a Solicitor in our Glasgow office, where he advises clients on a broad range of contentious construction matters. Whilst much of Kieran’s work involves acting for clients in adjudication and litigation proceedings, he recognises the value in the avoidance and early resolution of disputes, and also regularly provides clients with live project advice.
Kieran has experience advising clients on a variety of different forms of building contract, including those based upon the JCT, SBCC and NEC standard forms. The types of claim that he typically deals with include:
• delay claims;
• claims in relation to defective works;
• claims for payment; and
• claims associated with contract termination.• Acting for a main contractor in the the successful pursuit of a multi-million pound claim at adjudication regarding its entitlements to compensation events under the NEC4 form of contract.
• Acting for a sub-contractor in the successful defence of a Court of Session litigation regarding alleged defects to a render system.
• Acting for a main contractor in the successful pursuit of a multi-million pound claim at adjudication regarding defects in its sub-contractor’s works.
• Acting for a main contractor in the successful pursuit of a multi-million pound claim at adjudication regarding its entitlements to further extensions of time and loss and/or expense under an SBCC form of contract.
