Tara Cosgrove

Partner

Dublin

“Tara Cosgrove’s knowledge and experience of professional service groups is exceptional. Not only does she have a deep understanding of the complexities of the market and industries but also a great record in providing insight and vision.” Chambers Europe 2023

She has been involved in a diverse range of professional negligence claims, commercial disputes, aviation claims, claims under directors’ and officers’ policies, product liability claims and employment disputes and has experience in large scale high quantum cases involving litigation, mediation and arbitration.

Tara acts for professionals and their professional indemnity insurers in a wide range of claims including claims against solicitors, architects, valuers, financial advisors, insurance brokers, engineers and surveyors.  She has close links with professionals and their representative bodies and is often instructed on uninsured and non-contentious matters.  She also advises on risk management and claims avoidance.

Tara is also frequently instructed to provide coverage advice to both Irish and International insurers and advises on insurance disputes.

She has worked both in private practice and in-house with two of Ireland and the UK’s leading insurers. This has provided her with invaluable experience of the insurance industry, the important issues for the industry, risk management and assessment and the very real commercial issues associated with claims handling.

Tara has substantial experience in multi party claims, claims handling and case managed litigation and has had many cases reported at all levels up to and including the Supreme Court.
