Beale & Co expands Glasgow office with new Construction team

Leading international construction and insurance law firm Beale & Co is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Partner and two Solicitors to its recently opened Glasgow office, further strengthening its presence in Scotland.

The new team, led by Partner, Fraser Hopkins, brings extensive expertise in construction and engineering matters. Fraser, who joins from leading Scottish law firm BTO, is a specialist in construction disputes, with over 23 years of experience working on high-profile building and infrastructure projects across the UK for contractors, construction professionals and developers.

Fraser is ranked in both Chambers UK and the Legal 500 UK 2025, where he is praised as “…excellent and extremely knowledgeable in construction-law related matters. He is really responsive… He understands our commercial needs.”

Joining him from BTO are Kieran Thrall and Kate Ross. Kieran, a solicitor, regularly advises on high-value, complex construction disputes. Kate, also a solicitor, has significant experience advising the construction and engineering sector across the UK.

Fraser and the team will work closely with the Firm’s Contracts and Projects Advisory team – particularly with Stephen Fitzpatrick, who is Scots law qualified – ensuring clients benefit from an end-to-end service spanning project inception through to post-completion support, underpinned by the strength and depth of a highly experienced cross-office construction team.

Beale & Co opened its Glasgow office in November 2024, initially welcoming a team of professional indemnity lawyers as part of its ongoing growth strategy. It is led by Partner Lindsay Ogunyemi and fellow Partner Andrew McConnell; both specialists in the field of professional indemnity work, supported by a team of eight other highly skilled lawyers.

The addition of the new construction team marks a significant milestone in the office’s development and ensures clients in Scotland now benefit from a broader range of specialist services already offered across the Firm’s other locations.
