Structural Awards 2013 Winners Announced

The winners of The Structural Awards 2013 were announced on 15 November at The Brewery, London. The panel of judges selected the best structural engineering projects from over 80 submissions received.
Beale & Company sponsored the award for Sports or Leisure Structures, which was won by First Direct Arena, a landmark music venue in the heart of Leeds city-centre with a capacity of 13,500.

The event culminated in the presentation of the ultimate accolade – the Supreme Award for Structural Engineering Excellence. Awarded at the judges’ discretion, this is given to the project demonstrating the finest example of structural engineering design from all submitted projects in 2013. This year it was awarded to Taizhou Bridge, the world’s first long-span, three-tower suspension bridge in China.
