Emmet Cahill

In January 2019, Emmet joined the Employer’s Liability and Public Liability team in Beale & Co, Dublin. He works on a growing book of Employer’s Liability and Public Liability matters for a mix of self-insured corporate clients and Insurers. His responsibilities range from Initial instruction, through briefing Counsel, briefing various experts including Engineers, Medical Experts, Actuaries, Vocational Experts, to organising consultations, setting matters down for hearing and attending settlement meetings and Hearings.
Prior to this, Emmet worked for a law firm primarily on their Defence Litigation in Personal Injuries matters. His clients were self-insured corporate clients and Insurers and the case load involved primarily Employers Liability and Public Liability matters. Emmet gained considerable experience of the litigation process from first instructions, reporting to clients, briefing of Counsel and experts, attendance at court for Motions, settlement meetings and Hearings. He gained exposure to all jurisdictions from District Court cases, through Circuit Court matters and High Court. Emmet also gained experience to debt recovery and regularly attended the District Court to reach agreements or run cases for clients. Emmet also ran a book of pre Litigation claims handling matters which involved a very strict SLA in terms of notifications and reporting.
Emmet also has experience of Plaintiff Medical Malpractice and Product Liability.
