The Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards took place on 4 November to showcase and celebrate the best of Irish engineering and engineers. The awards presented on the evening were:

A team from Beales, called the Beale's Banderos, will be devoting Movember (formerly known as November) to growing, nurturing and preening the most impressive moustaches they can manage to raise money for Mens Health charities. In return for your donations we will be sharing a photo diary of the mo growing process on the site. The Beale's Banderos include Ian Masser, Nathan Modell, Ed Anderson, Andrew Croft, Ben McIlroy, Pasquale Pisanelli, James Vernon, Greg Small, Zaheer Hashmi, Warren Owen and David McArdle.

Staff at Beale and Company today joined companies from around the world in wearing red for RedR to show their support for the engineering charity RedR. The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of the City of London also showed their support for the flagship fundraising event by donning red whilst meeting with Beale and Company and other supporters of the charity at a reception at Mansion House. Speaking from Mansion House this morning, Lord Mayor Michael Bear said: "I am delighted to be wearing my red robes today to help mark RedR's flagship fundraising event.

We are delighted to announce that Niamh Loughran has joined the firm as a partner in Dublin. Niamh was formerly a partner in LK Shields and Dillon Eustace and brings extensive experience of professional indemnity claims. She has particular expertise in defending solicitors, architects, engineers and insurance brokers. Niamh also advises insurers, employers and employees on employment disputes. The addition of Niamh to our Dublin team is a reflection of the continued success of our Irish practice since it opened in 2002.
