Personal Injury Defense Solicitor, Dublin (1-2 years PQE)

We are currently looking to recruit a Solicitor to become part of our EL/PL team based at our Dublin office. Ideally candidates will have between 1-2 years previous experience of working on personal injury disputes.

The ideal candidates would have experience in areas including the following (although we do not necessarily require candidates to have experience in all of these areas):

  • Managing a caseload of EL and PL claims on behalf of major insurers.
  • Dealing with all the aspects of a claim from assessing liability, undertaking additional investigations, advising on      appropriate reserves and reporting directly to clients in relation to same.
  • Proactively litigating cases, to include drafting pleadings where appropriate, conducting settlement negotiations      and briefing/attending counsel for trial.
  • Maintaining management information on behalf of clients.
  • Collation and management of key documents and papers relating to claims.
  • Assuming responsibility for quality control and client protocol compliance on own caseload.
  • Ensuring the consistent and accurate management of file handling within the Beale & Co file handling protocols, including, billing, management of WIP etc.
  • Utilizing a case management system.
  • Handling confidential information in line with the firms security protocols.

Construction Disputes Senior Associate / Partner, Dubai (8+ years PQE)

We are currently looking to expand our construction offering in Dubai.  We are keen to speak to senior construction lawyers at either Senior Associate or Partner level or teams that would be keen to join the Dubai office of Beale & Co.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and ambitious team and work on some of the most prestigious projects in the Middle East.

The candidate will have experience of:

  • All aspects of international construction and infrastructure projects and contracts across a broad range of industries, including, power, oil and gas, infrastructure and commercial and residential developments;
  • S/he will also be an expert in arbitration, under the major arbitration rules, such as DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, ICC and UNCITRAL as well as ad hoc arbitration, and have experience in advising on dispute avoidance and resolution.
  • Advising on projects domestically in the Middle East and internationally, covering contracts governed by local laws.

The role would best suit a lawyer with private practice experience.

Candidates must also be technically excellent. It is important that the candidate is commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development - being able to develop existing and forge new relationships is a very integral part of this role.


Apprentice Administration Assistant, Bristol

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Administration Assistant to provide an efficient and effective administration service to our Bristol office.

You will learn how to use a range of office equipment and assist with a variety of daily tasks listed below:

  • Assist with opening stamping and distribution of all post in a timely manner
  • Provide an efficient service for the collection and despatch of all outgoing post
  • Ensure that DX, special and recorded deliveries are logged and the correct postage applied, where appropriate
  • Promptly sending and delivering faxes
  • Deal with all photocopying, paginating and binding requests
  • Ensure that each photocopying assignment is checked page by page for errors before being returned to the person whom requested the photocopying
  • Assist with filing and archiving
  • Ensure that the stationery cupboard is tidy and well stocked at all times
  • Ensure that the kitchen area is tidy and well stocked at all times
  • Ensure that all couriers are booked in a timely manner and that any problems are reported asap
  • To provide such other assistance and support as the office might from time to time require

Claims Handler/Paralegal, Bristol

We are currently looking to recruit a Claims Handler to become part of our claims handling team based at our Bristol office. Ideally candidates will have between 6 to 12 months experience.  Several of our previous claims handlers have subsequently obtained training contracts and gone on to qualify as solicitors at Beale & Company.

The ideal candidate would have experience in areas including the following (although we do not necessarily require candidates to have experience in all of these areas):

  • Dealing with matters valued at up to approximately £150K under the supervision of a partner / qualified solicitor (depending upon the nature and complexity of the claim).

  • Be actively involved in dealing with claims from initial notification through to settlement; successful rebuttal; or until the matter falls outside of the parameters of the claims handling scheme.

  • Reviewing new claims and assessing liability and quantum, as well as a preliminary assessment of coverage, in order that the most suitable strategy can be set.

  • Keeping the strategy under review during the life of the claim and tailoring it to reflect developments as they arise.

  • Dealing directly with clients assisting them in responding to claims by drafting letters for them to send, approving correspondence, instructing experts and where appropriate conducting settlement negotiations on behalf of the client.

  • Collating monthly management information from the scheme’s case management system and assisting with billing the files received in the scheme.

  • You may also be required to provide legal support to the qualified fee earners by, for example, conducting research tasks or by compiling trial bundles.

  • You will also be involved in business development and marketing with the qualified fee earners.


Construction/Professional Indemnity Solicitors, London (NQ to 4 years PQE)

Professional and Financial Risks from Solicitors and Associates up to Partner level candidates - London

We are currently looking to recruit talented Solicitors to work in our Professions (LFin) team based at our London office. Our LFin team handles professional negligence cases for legal and financial professions (such as solicitors, barristers, accountants, financial advisors, brokers, valuers and tax and pensions advisors) and then insurers, plus D+O, FI, W&I and a range of other insurance risks. Ideally candidates will have previous experience of working with similar cases and have a thorough understanding of Insurance Law and policy issues.

We are looking to recruit talented Professional and Financial Risks lawyers across different levels from Partners, to Associates and Solicitors to supplement our LFin team based in London. Candidates will have experience of:

  • Defending professionals including some or all of Solicitors, Accountants, Surveyors, Insurance Brokers, IFAs, Directors and Officers

  • Preparing reports for Insurers with the ability to explain and advise succinctly on difficult and complex areas.

  • Advising on case strategy.

  • Liaising with senior professional clients in a variety of disciplines.

  • Managing the Insurer/Insured relationship, being aware of potential conflicts.

  • Preparing for Court cases at all levels, including case management documentation interlocutory applications, expert instructions, witness statements and trial preparation.

  • Monitoring critical dates and ensuring compliance with Insurer service level agreements.
