Trainee Solicitors
"The training at Beale and Company has ensured that when I qualify I will have all the necessary skills and knowledge required to be a qualified solicitor. As a trainee I have been given plenty of responsibility (even handling my own matters under supervision) and client exposure. This means that when I qualify into the litigation department I will do so with plenty of confidence which is essential when managing the high value and high profile matters that Beale and Company tend to be instructed on".

Our practice
If you are starting out, start with the best. Our firm enjoys a firmly established reputation and, at the same time, it is growing.
We look for future leaders and we are committed to providing the necessary environment, education and support. Each year we recruit up to three trainees to join us. At Beale and Company we want to develop and retain the best talent.
Our clients come primarily from the following sectors: Construction, Legal, Accounting and Financial, Insurance, Commerce and Industry and Information Technology. We are consistently instructed to act and advise on large, high-profile matters. A number of our instructions also arise out of international projects and matters and our firm is a founding member of Lexicom, a European network of law firms. Find out more about our practice areas here.
What to expect
The programme not only provides the opportunity for our trainees to work alongside leading professionals in their field but also, and just as importantly, to develop broader skills needed to succeed as a lawyer in the business and wider community.
You are expected to have an excellent academic background and commercial awareness. You are expected to work hard, be dedicated and, at the same time, you can look forward to top quality work and training. We recognise that the demands of performing in today's professional environment can be challenging in balancing personal lives. Our firm is committed to ensuring our people maintain a healthy work and life balance as part of our overall values and commitment to our people.
The Training Contract usually starts in September and lasts for two years. It complies with the Training Code of the Law Society and generally consists of four six-month seats, each spent in a Partner's office. Our Trainees can obtain experience in:

On starting your training contract with us, you will be given a full introduction to help familiarise you with us and the work which we do. Each Trainee is supervised by the Partner for whom the Trainee works and progress is reviewed regularly by other Partners.
Beale and Company has a charity group, the Beale's Buns of Steel, who undertake an annual outdoor expedition for a chosen charity. We encourage our staff to partake in these annual expeditions and, each year, there are initiatives such as cake sales, raffles, quiz nights and sweeptakes in aid of the Buns of Steel and their chosen charity. In the last two years, the Buns of Steel have raised over £9,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care by conquering Ben Nevis and taking part in the Yorkshire Dales 3 Peaks Challenge.
